  • sleep is a substantial part of our health and wellbeing

  • this is what happens during healthy sleep:

    • our body and brain regenerates

    •  the stress hormones are released from our system

    • our immunity gets boosted

    • the information we learn are transitioned from short term to long term memory

    • our emotional experiences are processed

    • our emotional intelligence develops and grows

  • how much quality sleep does a teenager need ?

    • Recommended sleep times per population:
School age children (6-13): 9-11 hours
      Teenagers (14-17): 8-10 hours
      Younger adults (18-25): 7-9 hours
      Adults (26-64): 7-9 hours
